On 14 and 15 October, Ostrava brought together people from HR, management and business. HRko 2026 offered two days combining a professional programme with informal conversations and shared experiences. Manuvia attended as an event partner, with a strong team presence in Ostrava.
Day one: casino games, dancing and an evening with DJ Roxtar
This year’s HRko began for us on Wednesday 14 October. The Evening Summit at Futureum in Ostrava was an opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet more people from the industry and spend time together away from the usual working day.
The evening programme featured a pop-up casino where participants could try their luck, as well as a dance workshop with Jakub Mazůch. There was also a raffle, while DJ Roxtar provided the music. Excellent food and drinks added to the relaxed atmosphere.
Between activities, there was time to talk with colleagues and partners. These encounters give us a chance to get to know each other better and explore topics that do not always fit into a business meeting. The first day naturally brought the professional community together through a social programme.
Day two: inspiration at Gong in Ostrava

On Thursday 15 October, the event moved to Gong. The main day opened with an acrobatic performance by Cirk La Putyka, followed by an interview with the company’s director, Rostislav Novák. The insight into how the theatre company works also raised themes familiar to the business world: collaboration, trust, responsibility and team leadership.

Across the stages and workshops, discussions then explored artificial intelligence, the digitalisation of HR, company culture and employee development. The programme examined both the potential of new tools and their impact on people and the day-to-day running of businesses.
For a recruitment company, these topics have a direct connection to practice. Finding the right employees requires us to understand both businesses and candidates. And as the way we work changes, we also need to consider how to explain those changes and help people navigate them.
The main programme also included an interview with Lukáš Krpálek. His experience in elite sport offered another perspective on motivation, handling pressure and the ability to keep going after a setback. These questions are equally relevant to leading people and developing teams over the long term.

A chance to win a ticket to next year’s event at the Manuvia stand
Throughout the main day, we also met visitors at our stand. We organised a competition to win a ticket to HRko 2027, adding a chance to attend next year’s event to this year’s experiences.
Alongside the competition, the stand was a place to meet in person and exchange experiences. For our team, HRko was an opportunity to gather fresh ideas, talk with people from the industry and spend time together outside our day-to-day work.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by, to our colleagues for representing Manuvia and to the organisers for putting together both days. We are taking home ideas for our work as well as shared memories from Ostrava. We look forward to meeting again!
